When: Saturday 16 February at 7 pm
Where: Waihinga Centre in Martinborough
They would very much like to have you there to update everyone on progress towards a world class Dark Sky Reserve.
Chairman Lee Mauger has a set of framed astrophotography loaned from Astronz, which he would like to augment with some local astrophotographers’ work (Mark Gee / Glen Butler / John Whitby, Stephen Chadwick) as an exhibit.
Lee would like to have the main hall at the centre as a gallery during the day to show members and locals the nature of the skies above through the lens.
Astronz has been invited to bring a range of telescopes to Martinborough and some helpers to give people an idea what is available and how they work.
After the AGM there will be talks likely include locals John Whitby and Becky Bateman to talk about their plans at “Star Field” viewing centre at Ruakokpatuna.
Depending on the weather there will be a public sky viewing after the Waihinga Centre closes around 9:30pm.
