Speaker: Astrophysicist Dr Yvette Perrott from Victoria University

Dr Perrott did her PhD in Cambridge with the Cavendish Astrophysics Group (2010-2013) and subsequently became a Junior Research Fellow at Trinity College. In 2018, she won a Rutherford Discovery Fellowship and returned to New Zealand. Her research project is called ‘Realising the potential of galaxy clusters as cosmological probes’.
Dr Perrott is also the Science Committee Chair of the Arcminute Microkelvin Imager (AMI) telescope operated jointly by Cambridge, Manchester and Oxford Universities. She leads two large science projects using AMI to observe detected galaxy clusters and to survey previously undiscovered clusters.
