Wellington Astronomical Society is an incorporated society and registered charity for promoting astronomy in and around the Wellington region.
Our next regular meeting will in February. Rather than the first Wednesday which is the 6th of February (Waitangi Day) we planning to have it on the second Wednesday, the 13th of February. Will still be at Space Place/Carter Observatory. Details will be posted here and on our Facebook page closer to the date.
NASA has created posters featuring a group photo of the crew for all of the Space Station mission since 2000. These posters were used to advertise expeditions and were also hung in NASA facilities. Below is a typical example.

A Space Place Event.
With two exceptions, planets in our solar system have moons, and several have turned out to be worlds of their own. Astronomer Galileo Galilei first understood distant moons in 1610. Since then, we’ve landed on Earth’s and sent probes to another with an eye toward visiting more in the future.
Each event: $39 / Ticket price includes refreshments & a glass of wine or beer on arrival / CASH BAR
